Lymecycline and Epiduo

Description

Lymecycline, or Tetralysal 300, is a prescription-only oral antibiotic for treating severe acne. Lymecycline is particularly effective at treating skin infections such as Acne. It works by stopping the bacteria from making the essential proteins to survive.

Lymecycline is effective for patients who failed treatment following over-the-counter topical treatments or prescribed topical treatments.

Lymecycline should only be used in combination with topical treatments and should be stopped following three months of treatment.If the symptoms persist you will need to contact your local GP or The Family Chemist Clinician for further assessment. 

Lymecycline is an antibiotic and should not be used for longer than six months due to the risk of antibiotic resistance and, thus, worsening of acne. Once the inflammation settles, you should divert back to topical treatment only.
